Overview:
Our client is a professional design and engineering firm that has conceived, designed and built projects that include: corporate facilities, banking and financial institutions, government buildings, public and private institutions, airports, cultural and performing arts facilities, convention centers, healthcare facilities, university buildings, hospitality and hotels, and residential developments. Architectural services include: site and building evaluations, feasibility studies, facilities programming and planning, conceptual design, architectural design, sustainable design, construction administration, and post-occupancy evaluations specifications. The firm is expanding its existing Interior Design practice by creating a second Interior Design Studio and is seeking a Studio Leader.
The Studio Leader will establish and lead the new Interior Design Studio in parallel with the current Interiors Studio. He/She will provide leadership in design, new business development and strategic planning. The Studio Leader will solve complex problems in connection with the interior design of prestigious and/or large-scale projects. He/She will develop interior design concepts incorporating programming, space planning, architecture, engineering, and other required systems. The Studio Leader will oversee the preparation of complete design documents on all studio projects and will review all construction documents. He/She will confer with clients, consultants, contractors and others during various stages of project development. The Studio Leader will review shop drawings and material sample submittals for general conformance with the design intent. He/She will mentor, guide and encourage the development of the studio team.
Qualifications:
The candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture and a minimum of eight years of progressive experience. He/She should have exceptionally strong interior design skills on both a conceptual and detailed level. The candidate should have thorough knowledge of general interior design practice including programming and space planning, as well as coordination with architectural, structural, mechanical, electrical, lighting, technology, acoustics and specialty disciplines. In addition, he/she should have knowledge of detailing, materials, finishes, furniture, fixtures, code conformance, construction techniques and costs. The successful candidate will possess creativity and proficiency in the application of computer software for the design, presentation and delivery of projects.
