Overview:

Our client is a nationally recognized full-service design firm with a reputation for outstanding design in mixed-use, retail and entertainment, corporate office buildings and interiors, education, hospitality, life sciences and residential facilities. The firm’s core services include; architecture, master planning, urban design, interior architecture, space planning and programming. Due to continued growth and strategic planning, the firm has made the decision to augment its staff with a Senior Designer.

The Senior Designer will provide design leadership for large interiors projects. He/She will take responsibility on behalf of the firm for assigned clients/projects and will ensure excellent rapport with clients, networks and consultants. The Senior Designer will collaborate with Principals to discuss potential project challenges and to determine corrective action. He/She will be responsible for the development of staff assigned to his/her projects while promoting learning, collaboration and encouraging communication. The Senior Designer will participate in recruiting and interviewing activities as necessary. He/She will conduct performance reviews for assigned staff and will participate in design presentations, reviews, kick-off meetings and milestones.

Qualifications:

The candidate should have a Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Architecture. He/She should be a Registered Architect or Interior Designer with ten or more years of interior architectural design experience, ideally working on large corporate, hospitality and/or retail projects. The candidate should have a proven track of delivering major projects and excellent client and consultant communication abilities. He/She should possess a high level of design sensitivity, leadership abilities, communication skills and client communication experience. The candidate should be a leader with outstanding people skills who is personally creative and innovative with openness to new ideas. He/She should have strong interpersonal skills and be open, honest and ethical in all interactions.
