Overview:
Our client is an internationally renowned, award-winning architecture and interior design firm with extensive experience in the design of hotels, resorts, corporate office buildings, high-rise residential, retail, mixed-use, master plans and renovation/restoration projects. Due to strategic growth and planning, the firm has decided to augment its existing staff with a Director of Interiors.
Collaborating with the Managing Principal, the Director of Interiors has the responsibility of promoting design excellence on all of the firm’s hospitality interiors projects, while playing a major role in marketing presentations, tracking leads, client presentations and the business development of the firm. He/She will assist each team member from the conceptual design phases throughout project completion, providing design input and conducting design reviews at the conclusion of each phase. The Director of Interiors will participate in the construction details, contract documents and post occupancy project support. He/She will direct the formation of interior design concepts during the programming, space planning, schematic design and design development phases of projects. He/She will maintain frequent communication with current clients and prospective clients, documenting client interface and distributing appropriate information to partners and business development personnel.
Qualifications:
The candidate should have a Bachelors Degree in Interior Design and ten or more years of professional experience; professional registration preferred. He/She should have well-developed marketing and business development skills and experience as a trainer/mentor to staff members. The candidate should have strong business instincts with a demonstrated ability to influence others; must be both an effective team member and leader, mature, confident and with executive presence. He/She should have excellent communication skills; graphic, oral and written. The successful candidate should have strong work ethic and a willingness to do what it takes to complete an assignment.
