Sean McBride is Vice President and Senior Consultant for Gaines International. As Business Development Lead, he focuses on broadening Gaines market reach, while conducting searches and creating long-lasting relationships.

Sean joined Gaines in 2000, developing his own clients to become a Senior Consultant in 2004. In 2006 he was named a Vice President and in 2008 Sean took responsibility for leading business development in new directions. In his nine plus years with Gaines, Sean has become known for his comprehensive knowledge of the design and building industry. Clients and consultants alike seek him out as an expert in executive search, an advisor for business initiatives and a go-to person for industry knowledge.

Sean focuses on senior-level strategic hires for client firms in Engineering, Architecture, Interiors, Real Estate Development and Construction. Sean has direct experience across a number of Markets including: Transportation, Infrastructure, Land Development, Urban Planning, Landscape Architecture, and Buildings across all types (Healthcare, Education, Science & Technology, Hospitality, Institutional,  Residential, Corporate/Commercial, etc.). Sean is especially interested in emerging markets for Gaines within the Engineering arena: Water/Wastewater, Water Resources, Environmental, Energy/Power, and Federal Government.

Sean started his career with a Chicago-based firm that was a generalist practice but focused mostly on financial positions. Sean served a dual role and was responsible for new business development as well as candidate development. Sean brings a unique blend of design and business expertise to all of Gaines search assignments.

Sean McBride is a graduate of the University of Michigan where he earned a BA degree from the College of Literature, Science and the Arts with a concentration in Business and Psychology. He lives in Chicago with his wife Jennifer and their dog Midnight.
